It took a little over a year, but I've finally finished my first granny square blanket. I started without a concrete plan. I picked Caron Simply Soft because I loved the silkiness of the yarn. I never had a grandma who made me itchy sweaters, but I knew that if I wanted to snuggle -- it had soft.
I just picked all the colors that I liked, with no regard for complementary color schemes. I think it worked out all right, working the little kitschy charm angle. The finished product turned out to be much heavier that I expected, much to my delight. The weight is comforting.
